Similar to the Captain I shared last week, this was one of two identical minis, so I converted this one a bit with a different melee weapon, a head swap, a change of ornamentation and a bit of re-posing – nothing hectic, but enough to set him apart from his twin. Next up we have a cheeky chappie Chaplain. The horns on the skulls also give a nice bit of height & break up the otherwise smooth outline… They’re still not my favourite minis of all time, but I do like them better now, so overall, I’m calling this a win: Better… The Marines who appear out of nowhere to turn the tide of battle in their flaming armour. Games Workshop announced their Legion of the Damned Codex a few days ago, which gives more insight than we may ever have had into the mysterious Legiones Astartes. When I tackled mine, I wanted to visually balance the model a bit better, and still kicking around my idea of these guys having to deal with a lot of Daemonic incursions, I added Bloodletter skulls to the pauldrons… this nicely bulks out the shoulders & makes them more in proportion with their ridiculous bear paws. Legion of the Damned Codex - No New Minis. Their ridiculously oversized paws making them look like they permanently skipped Shoulders day at the gym – not a good look! Add in the insanity of a pair of power gloves with flamethrowers strapped on, and we have a pretty meh model as far as I’m concerned: No, I don’t do shoulders… Before I post my pics, I want to highlight that the base models are goofy as hell imo, and honestly, I’m not a fan. Greetings Terrans, another quick update on my Legion army today – first up, some rather aggressive-looking Aggressors.
